Create a subdomain

Subdomains can be managed by selected administrators and can be accessed by a restricted group of users. This is useful if you are collaborating with different vendors or if you are managing a variety of operations through UBIQUITY Manager.
Note: See Domains and subdomains and UBIQUITY Manager overview and related entities for further information on this subject.

To create a subdomain proceed as follows:

  1. Log on to UBIQUITY Manager with an administrator user account.
  2. Access the Explorer > Domain view section.
  3. Select the Add resource (circled plus) button and Create folder.
  4. Add any user accounts for the administration of the newly created folder.
  5. Ensure that the admin user accounts have Admin permissions to the folder.

When a local administrator signs in to UBIQUITY Manager, they will only be able to work with the subdomains that they have been granted permission to. They will be able to add any users, groups, devices, and additional subdomains as necessary within the folder they administer.
