Hotfix 14.1.1 and new Relay Servers

We are pleased to announce significant updates for UBIQUITY, aimed at enhancing the platform’s security, and performance.

The hotfix 14.1.1 for the Windows Runtime has been released to address critical issues, ensuring greater reliability:

Web Certificates: Fixed an issue with certificate generation for the Runtime’s Web interface that prevented the service from starting on certain older operating systems, including Windows Server 2016, Windows 10, and Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 2016 (version 1607). Versions 1709 and later were not affected by this issue.

OS Localization: Fixed an error that occurred when installing the Runtime on operating systems with a language other than English.

These fixes improve the reliability of remote updates for the Windows Runtime, preventing potential device disconnections after an update.

To optimize platform performance and reduce latency, especially during data transfer operations (e.g., PLC project deployment), we have increased the number of Relay Servers. The new locations are:

  • USA: Texas,
  • USA: Illinois,
  • India: Pune,
  • Australia: Canberra,
  • Italy: Milan (to improve performance compared to the Arezzo server)
  • The new Relay Servers are already operational and do not require any updates to UBIQUITY Manager Tools, Runtime, or firmware.

These improvements are part of our ongoing commitment to providing users with a more secure, high-performance, and reliable platform.
