Add a subdevice

You can add a new subdevice or duplicate an existing subdevice.

Add a new subdevice

  1. In the UBIQUITY Manager, access the Explorer > Domain view section.
  2. In the domain left pane, select the primary device on which the subdevice is dependant.
  3. Next to the primary device, in its same line, select . Alternatively, select the three dots at the top of the screen and select Add subdevice.
  4. A Create subdevice dialog window opens. Enter the subdevice Name and IP address.
    Note:
    The subdevice IP address must be compatible with a subnet that is reachable by the remote device.
  5. Select Save.

Duplicate an existing subdevice

You can duplicate subdevices from one device to another while preserving their configuration and associated services, eliminating the need for manual redefinition and reducing setup time.

  1. In Domain view, right-click the subdevice you want to duplicate.
  2. Select Copy subdevice.
    Tip:
    To duplicate all subdevices under a device, right-click the device and select Copy subdevices.
  3. Select the destination device.
  4. Select Paste subdevice, or Paste subdevices if you previously selected Copy subdevices.

    The duplicated subdevice(s) will appear in the left pane, under the selected device.

Important:
You cannot duplicate one or more subdevices within the same device.
Important:
Duplication is not possible if the destination device already contains one or more subdevices with conflicting IP addresses.
