Entitlements
Two entitlement types are available for FactoryTalk® Remote Access™: domain and Runtime entitlements.

Entitlement types and upgrades
- FactoryTalk®
Remote Access™ Runtime entitlements: Allows HMIs or IPCs
to connect to FactoryTalk®
Remote Access™ and determine the operations that are granted by
that connection. Devices are provided by default with a Runtime entitlement that may
consist of a Pro or Basic entitlement. Note: To learn more about what license is assigned to each device by default, see the device sections listed under System components.
You can upgrade any Basic entitlements by purchasing a Pro license on the Commerce Portal for your organization.
The Pro entitlement upgrade allows yout to obtain extra features. This means that the Basic entitlement remains assigned to the device and you cannot rehost the Basic entitlement to other devices.
Note:- If you want to detach a Basic entitlement, you must first detach any Pro entitlement upgrades, if present.
- If you remove a device from a domain, any entitlements assigned to it become available for rehosting.

Entitlement Description FactoryTalk® Remote Access™ Runtime Basic Basic entitlements allow file transfers, task management, and minimal VPN capabilities.
Note: OptixPanel™ Compact graphic terminals display an Upgrade button next to the Basic entitlement type, in the right pane of the Domain view, in the Entitlements section. This button allows you to upgrade the Basic entitlement to the Pro entitlement by purchasing just the services that are not already included in the Basic entitlement.FactoryTalk® Remote Access™ Runtime Pro Pro entitlements allow VPN access to all devices on the device network, file transfers and task management.
- FactoryTalk® Remote Access™ 1/2/5/10/25/50 Concurrent Connections entitlements: This domain entitlement may be purchased in volumes of 1/2/5/10/25/50 concurrent device connections.
- FactoryTalk®
Remote Access™ Trial Bundle: This entitlements bundle
includes a domain entitlement for concurrent connections and four Runtime entitlements. It
consists of a temporary entitlements bundle including:
- FactoryTalk® Remote Access™ 2 Concurrent Connections entitlement*
- Two FactoryTalk® Remote Access™ Runtime Basic entitlements
- Two FactoryTalk® Remote Access™ Runtime Pro entitlements
*Once the Trial Bundle is activated by your Sales Representative, you will find the newly assigned domain in FactoryTalk® Remote Access™ Manager.

Entitlements expiration
When an entitlement expires, the domain connected to it expires too.
- FactoryTalk® Remote Access™ Runtime entitlements are perpetual, including Runtime entitlement upgrades.

FactoryTalk® Remote Access™ 1/2/5/10/25/50 Concurrent Connection entitlements expire after 365 days and a 7-days grace period following the expiration date activates to allow for entitlement renewal through the FactoryTalk® Hub™. If the entitlement is not renewed within the grace period, the user can still access the domain, without being able to carry out any action within it.
Select the
entry to allow each admin and owner user to receive an email every day during the grace period, informing them about any days left to the entitlement expiration.Note: 60, 30, and 10 days before the FactoryTalk® Remote Access™ 1/2/5/10/25/50 Concurrent Connection entitlement expires, an email is sent to all of the admin and owner users to inform them about the expiration deadline. -
FactortyTalk Remote Access Runtime Trial Bundle: The Runtime entitlements included in the Trial Bundle expire when the FactoryTalk® Remote Access™ 2 Concurrent Connections entitlement expires. After expiration, no grace period starts.Note: For details about your Trial Bundle subscription duration and expiration date, contact your Sales Representative.Note: Notification messages will appear each time you log on to the service informing you of the number of days remaining in the Trial Bundle entitlement. After the trial period is over, you will not be able to use the service until you obtain a subscription.
See your entitlements in FactoryTalk® Remote Access™
- Access FactoryTalk® Remote Access™ Manager.
- In the Permissions/Information pane, open Entitlements. This section shows the entitlements for both domains and device Runtimes in your organization.
Note: In this area, you can see how many entitlements have already been assigned and how many are still available to you.
