Using UBIQUITY Runtime in combination with virtualized server systems

UBIQUITY VPN usage in combination with virtualized Server systems requires, under certain circumstances, adopting some tricks in configuring networking.

VSphere virtualized environments often have a networking configuration set to reject the so-called promiscuous mode that is normally used by bridging and VPN mechanisms, that inject packets from unknown external MAC to the host system that hosts virtualization.

In these configurations is recommended to change the settings of the host machine to enable promiscuous mode.

Virtualized systems based on Microsoft Windows Server Hyper-V role, it has been proved useful to enable the option “Enable spoofing of MAC addresses” that conceptually enables the use of the mechanisms normally required for the realization of the VPN connection.
